Welcome, Lori Hardow
The Vestry has authorized the hire of a part-time (4 - 8 hours per week) administrative assistant to the Rector. Lori Hardow works as a part time church administrator at a church on Capitol Hill and is now working on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to help Mother Melissa out with routine administrative tasks coming out of her office. Welcome, Lori!

If you wish to have announcements included in the bulletin, please email the information to Lori at lori.hardow@stpaulseattle.org. Items should be received by Thursday morning for Sunday morning's bulletin.

Mutual Discernment Group Forming this Fall
Do you have a question for discernment that you would like to explore in a group setting? If you think this might be of interest to you, please contact Mother Melissa Skelton. This group is not a therapy group or for those in crisis but is for those who feel called to explore a question about their lives and have the ability to communicate in a group setting (speaking as well as listening to others).

Children's Formation
Our Godly Play school year program concluded on June 8th. During the summer, a program for children ages 4 and up will be held in the St. Francis Room. Children 3 and under will still be in the Nursery. Parents are encouraged to take turns helping in either room. Sara Sutton (pinkbikester@gmail.com) will coordinate the parent volunteers. Godly Play will begin again Sunday, September 7, 2008.

Godly Play Training
We are planning a training session at St. Paul's for parents and other parishioners who are interested in becoming Godly Play storytellers and greeters. Please e-mail Alissa Newton if you're interested in participating. Alissa's e-mail address is
AlissabethNewton@gmail.com.

Welcome to Matt Piel, our substitute Organist/Choirmaster. Matt will be with us while Gary James is recuperating from his surgery. Welcome Matt!

Prayers and Support for Gary James

The only way to describe what has happened to Gary James is "miraculous" (that's the term being used by some of his medical professionals).

Gary has quite suddenly gotten better. He is now back in his own apartment and is eating, dropping by the office to check e-mail and actually went to a Storm game this week.

It looks like his latest health crisis has passed, and so now he seems to be back "simply" recovering from the liver transplant.

Please continue to keep him, his care team, and his doctors and nurses in your prayers. We're asking the parish to consider making a monetary contribution to defray incidental costs related to Gary's recuperation. If you wish to contribute, make the check out to St. Paul's and write "Gary James" in the memo line. Thanks for all your help. We will let you know when we need meals again for Gary.

Our youth group will continue to meet on Sunday mornings during Coffee Hour. If you’re 12-18 years of old or know someone that age, come or spread the word. The group’s leaders are Kate and Jordan Rickard.
